So this isn't a saying precisely but there was this thread where an Anon hypothesized that perhaps consumerism is a good thing after all because if you don't desire to buy anything, you become NEET and lazy while materialism can drive someone to be productive. I forgot the words he used, he used prettier words than I'm using.
